Where Do You Store Your Flammable Chemicals?
Wednesday, August 20, 2014
A chemical storage issue that is frequently overlooked is the placement of flammable items in close proximity to furnaces and gas-fired hot water heaters. Many people unwittingly store gasoline or cans of oil-based paint or varnish in their basements and do not have them adequately sealed to prevent the associated vapors from migrating to a nearby source of ignition.
Be sure to store all such substances in tightly sealed containers well away from any combustion equipment.
